Muzzles in public

I get this question a lot when I’m out in public with a dog wearing a muzzle, and I bet a lot of you very responsible folks with serious dogs who sport their muzzles in public often get it too! So I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone and you are doing the right thing by using your safety tools with an aggressive/formerly aggressive dog and to keep rocking that beautiful muzzle! ❤️

Them: Why is that dog wearing a muzzle? I thought she went to training? [context: many people genuinely don’t understand the nature of aggression and that if given the opportunity to bite again, some aggressive dogs will bite in spite of their training. This is why we continue using safety equipment after training.]

Us: She always wears a muzzle in situations where we can’t control the environment… we know how to use our safety equipment and ecollar training now to prevent potential bites BECAUSE she went for training!

Training doesn’t mean we humans can be irresponsible or complacent with a formerly aggressive dog, it means we have no excuses now for being complacent and taking unnecessary risks with a formerly aggressive dog because though training we literally got all the education, all the tools and all the training to never let another bite happen.
