Walking in circles

Constant impulsive movement like pacing/circling/following people everywhere/being clingy/running and barking at sounds/windows/doors, etc. is very easy for a lot of anxious and impulsive dogs and doing these behaviours repeatedly keeps the dog very stuck in his anxious and reactive mindset and insecure choices.

Following and holding commands, respecting boundaries, leaning into structure and being calm is extremely hard for anxious and impulsive dogs but developing the skills for impulse control and a calm mindset helps improve overall behaviour, increases confidence and independence and decreases anxiety!

As we work together and I give supportive ecollar communication, and ask the dog to follow and hold commands we’ll see him gain confidence, become more sure of himself and even relax and have fun with our recall exercises! The secret to helping these sensitive and anxious little souls feel confident and secure is LEADERSHIP! Which means giving them rules, boundaries, structure, and accountability and reducing ill used privileges like free roaming (if the dog choses to use it anxiously or reactively) so that they know what is expected of them, how to achieve it and also have the handler’s help and guidance to be successful!
